(a) EFFECTIVE DATE This AD becomes effective August 19, 2020. (b) AFFECTED ADS None. (c) APPLICABILITY This AD applies to Pacific Aerospace Limited Model 750XL airplanes, serial numbers up to and including 221, certificated in any category. (d) SUBJECT Air Transport Association of America (ATA) Code 71: Power Plant. (e) REASON This AD was prompted by mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The FAA is issuing this AD to prevent fire propagation through the firewall because of ineffective sealant, which could result in smoke or fire in the cockpit. (f) ACTIONS AND COMPLIANCE Unless already done, within 3 months after August 19, 2020 (the effective date of this AD) or within 300 hours time-in-service after August 19, 2020 (the effective date of this AD), whichever occurs first, install new sealant components into the main loom firewall penetration hole and the ADAS or DAAM firewall penetration holes if installed by following the Accomplishment Instructions in Pacific Aerospace Mandatory Service Bulletin PACSB/XL/101, Issue 1, dated May 9, 2018, except you are not required to contact Pacific Aerospace Limited if there is any chafing or damage on a loom. Instead, your repair must be accomplished before further flight using a method approved by the Manager, Small Airplane Standards Branch, FAA, using the contact information in paragraph (g) of this AD, or approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of New Zealand. For a repair method to be approved as required by this paragraph, the FAA or CAA approval letter must specifically refer to this AD. (g) ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF COMPLIANCE (AMOCS) The Manager, Small Airplane Standards Branch, FAA, has the authority to approve AMOCs for this AD, if requested using the procedures found in 14 CFR 39.19. Send information to ATTN: Mike Kiesov, Aerospace Eng- ineer, FAA, Small Airplane Standards Branch, 901 Locust, Room 301, Kansas City, Missouri 64106; telephone: (816) 329-4144; fax: (816) 329 -4090; email: mike.kiesov@faa.gov. Before using any approved AMOC on any airplane to which the AMOC applies, notify your appropriate prin- cipal inspector (PI) in the FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO), or lacking a PI, your local FSDO.
