Background
This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) cancels SAIB
NE-08-29, dated June 16, 2008. SAIB NE-08-29 alerts owners, operators,
and riggers of reserve parachute harness containers equipped with a
VIGIL automatic activation device manufactured by AAD nv/sa Advanced
Aerospace Designs, of an airworthiness directive (AD) issued by the
Direction General de l’Aviation Civile (DGAC). However, we are
cancelling SAIB NE-08-29 due to the receipt of new information and
because the French Direction General de l’Aviation Civile (DGAC) is not
the State of Design for the VIGIL automatic activation device. The
Service public fédéral Mobilité et Transports, the
aviation authority for Belgium, is the State of Design for the VIGIL
device and has not issued an equivalent airworthiness directive (AD) to
DGAC AD F-2008-007, dated June 4, 2008.
